How funding works

It buys nothing

No say over what we publish, what we cover or how we cover it. No ads, no sponsored posts, no early looks.

People only

We accept money from individuals. Not from companies, unions, elected officials, candidates, campaigns, political action committees, parties or governments, and not from anyone with a contract or bid before the City or County.

Not tax-deductible

Tally LA is not a charity or a nonprofit, so contributions can't be deducted from your taxes.

What it pays for

First the monthly running costs, then the planned work on the Get involved page, in the order listed there.

Every month in public

We post the total received and how many people gave. We never publish names.

All contributions are final

There are no refunds.
